The Office of the Lieutenant Governor, in partnership with The Works! Foundation, initiated
Project Minagof in November 2011. This goodwill project involves the preparation and shipment of care packages for our men and women in uniform and was established to convey our appreciation for their sacrifices. These packages have been shipped to deployed local service members of the Guam Air and Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves.

Note: Data for this listing was compiled from online sources by UOG social work students enrolled in SW110 Introduction to Community Services on Guam classes (Sections 1 and 2) in the spring semester of 2017.

Through our collaborative efforts with The Works! Foundation, Project Minagof has touched the lives of close to 1,000 service members and their families. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters spend many months away from home to serve their island and their nation overseas. These personalized care packages provide a taste of home and a sense of familiarity. One Airman wrote, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I can’t say it enough! I really appreciate the morale boost and the happy faces… Please extend my appreciation to all those who supported the preparation and movement of our care packages!”

We also include in the packages a life sized rubbing of the Great Seal of Guam. We work closely with Family Readiness Groups to have the families of service members personalize each Seal with positive, heartfelt, and personal messages. By including this historic icon we hope to stimulate Guamanian pride and remind these service members that we thank them and support them in their service.
